Residential Lease Document

A residential lease document is any type of formal contract or agreement which is used by the landlord of a house or apartment to lease the property to a tenant for residential purposes for a particular period of time. The tenant in return must pay a monthly rent, including or exclusive of utilities, and also pay a security deposit which is returned to him after the lease ends. The document must clearly mention the names of the landlord and tenant and also mention the rent amount. Other important points to be included in the document are the term of the lease, notice period and other special terms and conditions.

Sample Residential Lease Document:

The residential lease document has been created on March 14, 2012 by the tenant Johnny Ray for a house rented from landlord William Canning. According to the document, the landlord shall lease the house to the tenant, who agrees to use the house only for residential reasons and no commercial purposes.

  • Rent per month: $900

Terms and Conditions:

  • The tenant must pay the rent within the first 3 days of every month, or else he will be fined $10 for each late day.
  • A refundable security deposit of $2,000 will be paid by the tenant to the landlord
  • A 30-day advance notice must be given by both parties to terminate the document
